Kaolin for Cosmetics

Cosmetic products need fillers that are safe, soft, and functional. Harsh clays can dry out the skin too much or feel gritty.

Kaolin is the gentlest of all cosmetic clays. It effectively absorbs excess sebum (oil) and impurities from pores without stripping the skin's natural moisture barrier. In makeup, its fine particle size provides high coverage (opacity) and a silky, matte texture (slip) that helps products apply smoothly.

Is it safe for sensitive skin?

Yes, Kaolin is widely considered the mildest of all clays, making it suitable for sensitive, dry, and mature skin types that cannot tolerate harsher clays like Bentonite.

Can it be used in soap?

Yes, it is excellent for cold process soaps. It adds "slip" (silkiness), helps anchor scents, and provides gentle exfoliation.

Is it sterilized?
